Faith, Grace, Joy, Chastity, Destiny….and more….names to live into or up to, and the people who have them.
To narrow the field a bit, I’d especially love to hear from you if you were named Joy at birth, and how that’s been for you. (And if your name isn’t Joy, please read on; you’re included very soon. I honor you and your journey too!)
Did you feel pressure to be joyful? Do you now? Did you want to have a different name, or were you happy with your name? Did there come a time when you felt comfortable with your birth name? Did you feel pulled to heal your wounds to align with your given name of Joy?
My unique story with the name Joy has been a ride and a half — disheartening, exhilarating, confusing, with lots of gratitude sprinkled on top. You’ll run into bits of my tale scattered about, and I refer to a slice of it in the little book of prose and poetry I wrote especially for you: Seven Ways to Jumpstart Your Joy. I’m pretty sure you’ll want to take the opportunity to read it, so be sure to sign up (it’s free); you’ll find an easy link on every page.
To joy and everyone named Joy, and to everyone else with the radiant Joyless names you hold…I ask myself, what if all the people named Joy (and every other person) fully healed into their highest selves?
Crazy, wonderful world!!! Our planet would be hummin’ and buzzin’ with an amazing high frequency of JOY!!!
Write in, folks named Joy, and any sweet name at all. I’d love to hear from you! Let’s get the conversation started.
How has your name worked for you, or not? Do you have a friend or relative named Joy (or any other name) who would enjoy this post? Invite them here!
