I have a theory about successful, shiny people who are living into the lives that fit them just right.
Maybe you’re one of them, in fact.
You, they, (and I) have been through our share of life’s drama and trauma, years including blocks like critical outer and inner voices, perfectionism, and low self esteem; and we keep moving through–
learning, growing, evolving…until we find ourselves in enough alignment of who we are meant to be, along with a new belief in ourselves, which lets us shine for others, to reveal our zeal as real.
And let’s just take a moment to CELEBRATE the JOY of that!!
Congratulations on living your own life in its best ways, shining your unique spark of delight…your Firework, as Katy Perry sings.
You modeling this authentic life of your own loudly speaks to others ready to let their own light shine.
There’s that beautiful Marianne Williamson quote I suspect you know that shining our light gives those looking on permission to do the same.
That’s how it works.
Back in the days when I was hiding my light in the bag on my back filled with unhealed shame, I remember hanging onto that quote, believing that some day I would let my light shine.
I didn’t know how or when I’d get there, but I held onto the idea that I would keep plugging away to heal what needed to heal until I’d healed into the Joy I was created to be.
Now I’m running into authentically aligned people more and more, and this is an amazing phenomenon.
As corporations lay off thousands of employees, more and more people are writing, talking, and singing about creating your own work from doing your inner work, to stop working for a living, and start living out loud to create your right work.
Two wonderful books I’ve recently read which address this topic are Gregg Levoy’s Callings: Finding and Following an Authentic Life and Martha Beck’s Finding Your Way In A Wild New World: Reclaim Your True Nature to Create the Life You Want.
Well, in all honesty, I savored Levoy’s that read like a poem, and I made a zillion notes. Returning the book to its rightful owner, I suspected I couldn’t live too long without it.
I left this post in process to order my copy, plus I offered to buy one for a friend struggling to discover her right life; I seriously LOVED this book.
Though I haven’t yet completed Beck’s, I’ve adored and laughed through everything she’s ever written, and the first half of this book resonated with me; it was set aside when other books more loudly called my name.
So, if your Shine is Aligned, and Your Zeal is For Real, bless you and your work and play in the world. Go In Joy!
And if you’re not there quite yet, if you’re on the road to aligning your shine, you have all my compassion and love for your journey.
May you continue to celebrate your progress and process, and may you keep on the evolving path. Here are some additional thoughts:
Hang in there.
Take breaks.
Treat yourself with lots of kindness.
Make gratitude a priority.
Find positive friends.
Focus on the positive.
Spend time in nature.
Take time for stillness.
Trust your intuition.
Engage in body work.
Let me know how I can help.

Greetings, Janey! Great to hear from you. Hmmm..I’m not sure if I remember you by name, though a photo
will jar my memory, I suspect. I’m so glad you enjoyed reading your way around my site, and I’m humbled
and grateful to receive your lovely memory of me and your delight (joy!) that I’m spreading JOY. Truly,
it’s been a lifelong journey to heal into my name, and I’m one grateful woman that I’m here. No more
baggage to carry! Much love and good wishes to you, too! Please spread the word as far as you’d like,
so more folks can receive what I’m called to offer.
