When you see this photo of a footprint in concrete, what do you think about or feel?
Do you feel stuck?
May you find some time to sit quietly or to journal about that – discover what you can shift, what’s beyond your control, what you can pray for, and what you can release, helping you move from that place of feeling stuck into your amazing life filled with experiences and delight.
Do you consider your feet, and the way they ache?
Is it time to look into that? Can you wear different shoes, stretch your arches? Can you spend less time on your feet? Bathe them? Baby them?
Do you wonder if you could pay closer attention to your toes, loving those loyal soldiers you’ve neglected or relegated to the bottom of a list?
In Pilates, my instructor offered me a deeper understanding of our toes and feet, and gave me a reason to treat them with more care. Wiggling them now, I recall it’s time to honor them the way she showed me.
After I complete this post, my toes will receive some tlc, lucky little guys and gals.
Consider for a moment the larger road you’re on that your feet traverse, and this quote from Divining the Body by Jan Phillips:
In The Teachings of Don Juan, Carlos Castaneda writes, “All paths lead nowhere, but one has a heart, the other doesn’t.”
Our one job in life is to find the path of our heart and walk that one. It’s not the destination we’re after—it’s the experience of being true to our calling and nature. The deep step into God is a step of awareness. The path of the heart is a journey into consciousness.
Are you traveling a road to reveal the beauty of your heart?
Do you love yourself, so you can love every other person you meet?
Do you agree that we’re unable to really love another until we can love all of ourselves?
Have you heard that the traits we see in another that trigger us are the same traits within us that we haven’t loved and integrated?
May you find ways to honor your toes, your feet, and your footsteps deeper in the life that will make your heart sing!
