Finding a pine needle on the floor at the end of February spins me back to an afternoon in my former marriage.
With Joe on his recliner, and me on the nearby couch, I say I’m bothered about an issue with my parents.
My husband says something on the order of, Why are you bringing this up again?
I mumble an answer that comes to mind and heart that doesn’t satisfy either one of us.
Today, however, years later, I understand that until we heal all the layers of our wounds, they return to be healed, like needles that surface past the holiday until they’re completely removed.
Have you experienced that healing happens in a spiral pattern, as we twist into new aspects of life?
We heal something at a point in time.
Then we continue to evolve, growing in compassion, for instance….and along comes a new chance to heal another layer of a former drama in our lives.
Perhaps with this deeper compassion, we’re ready to offer deeper forgiveness. Or we awaken to a wrong we did to another, and we’re moved to make amends.
Plus…healing involves our emotions, our energy bodies, and our physical bodies.
Healing truly is one huge topic, isn’t it?
I know that the more body work I do to clear up ancient blocks in muscles, the more clarity and power I feel entering. It’s as if clearing these physical wounded places opens space for the Universe to enter…very cool.
How fun it is to allow more of my deepest self to emerge, no longer held back by my emotions, my cells, my muscles, my memory…
What are the pine needles in your life – those often-returning wounds asking to be healed on all the levels you can?
Can you consciously name one, and engage with a new way of healing it? Is it time to journal about it, and then burn the paper? Is it time to treat yourself to a massage?
Are you ready to have a spiritual companion offer your soul deep wisdom and presence to work through that returning wound?
