Have you heard that expression?
Does it make sense to you?
Do you believe it?
What roads have you taken to invest in yourself?
Do you have something lined up, or will you see how things evolve?
Talking to myself as a 21-year-old graduating with my bachelor’s degree…I am DONE.
No more school for me, thank you very much.
Well…
That held for a teeny bit of time, just until my first employer could send me off to learn a program, so I could bring it back, teaching it to others.
Raising our sons as a stay-at-home Mom, I took advantage of exercise classes, parenting classes, and more.
Gee whiz.
I think I just may be a life-long student.
And I love it!
Do you?
Do you believe in life-long learning?
Do you believe learning and growing make life interesting, and make you multi-faceted, interesting, and able to serve others in deeper ways?
Do you understand that healing into your integrated wholeness is a gift of peace to the world?
I’ve gone through training to become a Hospice volunteer, taken Creativity Workshops, and graduated from a 21-month certification program in spiritual direction.
When my company’s radiant creations transformed from a dream into reality, I invested in business coaching programs.
Last weekend, I attended a program created and facilitated by Chelsea Wakefield, LCSW: The Luminous Woman… A Threshold Weekend of Illumination and Transformation For Women Ready to Live Fully Into their Deep Wisdom, Unique Beauty, and Archetypal Power.
Radiant, wise Chelsea (www.chelseawakefield.com) led us through a beautiful process involving sharing story, movement, and music. We covered topics including The Inner Patriarch, Dreamwork, and Archetypes of the Feminine.
When we say, Part of me wants to do this, and part of me wants to do that, we’re hearing different aspects of our psyches.
During the weekend, we woke up to our Inner Cast of Characters in new ways, and our learning will continue to inform us going forward.
It’s a gift to ourselves, and to our world.
Learning.
Growing.
Becoming our best selves to serve one another in love.
