We hadn’t seen one another in a year.
Taking turns naming highlights we’ve been through, I see how much I was able to accomplish last year, and how effortless it appeared.
I know my business coach had been astounded as I glided through each hurdle, though I was feeling a bit nonchalant.
My days included trip after trip to Charlotte to support my parents during big health challenges; moving into a shared home with my partner Ben; and growing into new aspects of myself and my work.
Wow.
Writing that out allows me to digest it a little.
I’m humbled to see all I maneuvered through in 2012, with all the peace, joy, and grace that my integrating self carried along.
No wonder clients started finding me!
I AM filled with peace and joy to spare.
I’ve been led to heal layers and layers of perfectionism….hooray…and all the blocks that used to be in the way of anything I tried to accomplish.
Until they fell away, those layers and blocks were HEAVY.
Dear reader, are you weighed down by judging yourself to do better, be more, or be sizes smaller? Do you hash and re-hash what you’ve said to another? Are you plagued by a stream of self-talk that’s less than pretty?
Truly, self-talk of a negative variety is not helpful.
To really love ourselves, along with all of our awesome and awful parts, we need to start treating ourselves with kindness.
Does this make sense to you?
A first step on the way to healing into our vibrant, lovable selves is to nurture ourselves, talk gently to ourselves, and to forgive ourselves when we miss the mark.
Let’s say that again.
A first step on the way to healing into our vibrant, lovable selves is to nurture ourselves, talk gently to ourselves, and to forgive ourselves when we miss the mark.
Remember Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself?
In order to love anyone else, we first need to love our own sweet selves.
Because of the way we were parented, and because our culture always says we need to be richer, smarter, and more beautiful, driving consumer spending, we need to grab hold of our own reigns, savor our natures, and settle into a way of being kindred spirits to ourselves.
Kindness begins at home.
May you treat yourself with all the kindness you can, and then more!

I have subscribed. Thanks! I met you at Quotations in December. I’m the ‘Zen Guitarist’ who lived near Bisbee, recently moved to Brevard.

meeting you and our rich conversation. How have you been doing?
Glen 'Saverio' says
I’m still acclimating to my new environment. Trying to meet like minded people and find places and events to attend. Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Glen,
Have you heard of Meet Up Groups? I know there’s an active one in Brevard these days. You’d Google
Meet Up…then Brevard…and I believe you could sign up for it. There are aspects that like dining
out, hiking, attending cultural events…
Best wishes finding connections that feed you!
By the way, you mentioned you signed up for Go In Joy!, and I wonder if you completed the sign up process
when e-mails come to you, because I didn’t see you on the list.
Many blessings,
Joy
