We have a mystery vine that’s overtaking pots and buckets, and all manner of gardening items beneath our deck.
It’s a curious thing to Ben even though he possesses rich gardening experience, so if you recognize it, please let us know.
July and August allowed this hearty vine to enjoy a festive time wrapping around pillars and more.
Now that it’s *September, Ben’s ready to reclaim this space, convinced our mystery guest isn’t going to bear fruit.
I admit I’ll be saddened when he does.
It’s been fun watching our resident vine meander these weeks; I honor its hearty tenacity to stretch and thrive.
Do you recognize a metaphor to something in your life?
Are you overrun with gratitude and joy for all the blessings in your life?
Hooray!
Are you surrounded by loving friends, a beautiful environment, and peace through healing separation in your life?
Congratulations!
Conversely, is an activity that started with a good intention running away with your energy or time, invading space for you to be still?
Are you addicted to on-line games, Facebook, or too many television shows, ignoring creative urges?
Have you said Yes too many times, leaving you breathless running to lots of meetings, diminishing time shared with those you love?
Or do you keep overly busy in other ways to avoid facing something inside you, something that could offer you more peace if you work it through?
Our lives offer unlimited external and internal distractions that can cover over the deepest, most radiant parts of us.
Not sure what’s taken over, but sure that something has?
Need some reflection time?
I invite you to sit in quiet reverie, or to pick up your pen and journal about this; then return.

To live into the awesome lives awaiting us, where we bound out of bed into each new day, we’re asked to make new choices.
We need to take back our lives!
Maybe we need to wean off excessive time on Facebook.
Maybe we need to give ourselves stillness to hear our soul’s voice.
Maybe we need to resign from trying to please everyone else.
Maybe we need to heal a long-ago trauma we’ve grown strong enough to face.
What is your life calling you to do?
What would shepherd us deeper into our whole selves, loving all our parts, living into the unique lovers of life we each can be?
May you take back part of your life this week to expand your joy!
