Do you view your life as a length of time in Earth School?
Have you heard this idea before?
Are you open to growing, healing, and becoming a better and better version of yourself?
Or not?
I am convinced that we TOTALLY are designed to learn, evolve, and deepen our whole lives.
Years ago, tired of the emotional and intellectual intensity of college, I decided I wouldn’t get more education.
Well and good to make that decision, but the cessation of education surely didn’t last long.
When I moved to Cleveland, Ohio to share an apartment with a woman I’d met a few years earlier, school resumed.
I learned that I might have to wait over an hour to use the loo, since this ingénue with long red hair wouldn’t announce when she planned to hijack the bathroom.
I learned there wouldn’t be any freezer space for my food unless I claimed it.
Actually, it was my fiancé who wrapped a record album in foil to stake a barrier in the freezer while I looked on.
Hmmm…why couldn’t I simply talk with the offending apartment mate?
Seems I recall words had failed; she played to type an only child who didn’t comprehend compatible living with another.
Consequently…freezer espionage was in order.
It also didn’t take long before I was learning, learning in my first job downtown at Union Commerce Bank.
I was learning how to facilitate New Employee Orientation, how to write a Policy Manual, and how to create a monthly newsletter.
Along the way, my emotions rode waves of chaos while I separated from my parents more and more to live into solo, engaged, and then married life while navigating work days under the tutelage of a manic-depressive supervisor.
So fun…a crazy-making work place.
Next children entered the scene to ramp up another learning curve.
Colic…projectile vomiting…how to open a stroller…
When our sons were in school, I learned the power of prayer through synchronicity after synchronicity, leading me to the church newsletter position.
Sweet.
The interviews and features I wrote uplifted spiritual connections. Wow.
What about you, dear reader?
Can you look back on your life to see the education you’ve received?
Besides the intentional, college route and degrees, how much has life invited you to learn, grow, and evolve?
Have you responded?
Have you rushed through?
Are you patient with yourself?
These days deepening into my journey, patience speaks loudly.
Breathe, Joy.
Be, Joy.
Take morning time to align.
Through this practice, your life flows with more ease.
You accomplish MUCH more than you ever thought possible.
You, too, dear one.
May you bring stillness into your days to enrich all you are and all you bring into the world.
By connecting with our souls, by communing with the Heavens, we evolve more fully into the radiant spiritual/human beings we are, spreading blessings where we wander.
