I’m sorry it’s been so long between posts here.
You will?
Thank you so much!
Life found me lots of other places…geographically, as well as internally, growing into new layers of belief in my path, love, peace, and joy.
Here’s a bit of the tale –
While offering joyful wares at a local craft show in November, I am given a postcard for a large show coming up in three weeks.
Visiting the website, I realize that I’m ready to shine the light of my inspirational wares further and to pay the largest booth fee I’ve paid…and that if my seamstress can create lots of inventory, I can step into this opportunity.
Wow.
Through rain and cold wind, my assistant and I set up our booth, returning the next three days to welcome customers to the Joy on Your Shoulders Booth of radiant, joyful wares at The ‘Tis the Season Holiday Fair at the Ag Center in Asheville, NC.
Fun…boring…interesting…sweet!
Participating in this show gives me new feelings…I belong anywhere! I don’t feel overwhelmed or intimidated that shows are too big for me. I’m ready to appear in any venue that feels like a good fit.
The next day, I receive an email inviting me to be a vendor at The Spiritual Director’s International (SDI) Emerging Wisdom Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
What a synchronicity!
I’ve just realized I belong anywhere, I’m certified in spiritual direction, and I’ve held a longing to travel to the southwest.
This sounds perfect.
Plus, I’ll notice the difference between craft shows and conferences, and putting myself and wares further into the world will attract new opportunities.
Yes.
I’m ready to travel to New Mexico, experience that sacred land, and put my hat in the ring of my first spiritual conference as a vendor.
So…
Ben and I drive to Santa Fe, New Mexico, a 3000-mile round trip, to attend The SDI Conference.
My being and wares are affirmed, loved, and purchased in large numbers. I adore the energy of Santa Fe, and we enjoy a sweet, long journey together, something we hadn’t done in a few years.
Neighboring vendors tell me my wares need to be in other conferences they name, so before we leave Santa Fe, I apply to new shows.
In May, I attend The Summer Dream Conference at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC for my second year, where my wares are loved and purchased.
In June, I travel to the Unity People’s Conference, where my wares are adored, affirmed, and purchased in large quantities. I connect in deep ways with many folks there, and the connections I make continue to evolve with custom orders, an interview on a Unity radio show, and more.
In July, I visit a dear, 91-year-old friend outside Philadelphia. We have a sweet, beautiful, lovely, lovely visit. Blessings to you, Petey Gladys. The photo in this post shows me with Petey as I am leaving.
In August, Ben and I drive to Nashville, Tennessee where I’m a vendor at the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) held at Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Resort, a Disney-esque property we enjoy.
I receive a warm welcome from some attendees and a cautious greeting from others, discovering that souls at this long-standing conference can be wary of newbies.
Two weeks later, I fly to New York for my Chasidic nephew’s wedding. (Before buying my ticket, I move through new layers of an old wound to make that trip…nice.)
And so it goes.
I’m living into an experimental time attending lots of conferences, saying no to others, discerning where my energy and wares are most embraced, growing internally along the way, and visiting friends and family.
What a journey.
What an exciting, joyful, beautiful time it’s been to spread my wings further, to take a few flights, drive a few miles, and spread lots of joy.
To all you are growing into it, dear one, within and without.
How is your journey going?
Are you moving through stuck places?
Are you healing into new behaviors?
Are you learning to fly?

I’m so happy to hear of your unfoldment and the success it is bringing, Joy! Thanks for sharing this inspirational story. BTW, I would like to purchase a dog bandana with the word “Love” on it in Ocean. And a bookmark with the word “Joy” on it (my daughter’s middle name) in Ocean as well. Can we meet in Brevard somewhere to complete our transaction? I’d rather give you a hug and not pay the mailing fee. Blessings.
