Most mornings, I savor a hot mug or two of Good Earth tea, breathing deeply into the warmth and spices, a way to tiptoe into my day.
Afterwards, I remove the tag’s quote, slipping the bag into our compost container.
Ahhh…
Not quite messages in tea leaves with a shaman, but sweet messages no less to lighten my spirit. Positive sayings, usually, which add to my preferred thought process.
Not a blaring television with fearful stories.
Not a loud radio with specials expiring today.
Just sunbeams through leaves turning golden. A faint sound of traffic outside. And birds greeting morning.
Then time in a sacred chair to journal, read devotions, and sit in silence.
Posting inspiration on Facebook.
This way of taking in peace and positivity as a daily practice that nurtures my soul wasn’t always my path.
There was a time I lived in my mind with lots of fear, anxiety, and nervous feelings.
There was a time I lived with people who read every fearful article and watched news ad nauseum, repeating to us the horrors they read or witnessed on the screen.
The journey from a life of the ego/fear-based thinking into these days of love/spirit-based knowing is a journey of the ages, one I understand is meant for each of us.
May we awaken to the messages we’re taking in, and may we find the sacred path to more love and less fear.
May we receive as much light as we’re able.
May we open our hearts to all that’s good.
May we believe in the love we are.
May we love ourselves and each person we encounter.
May love prevail.
Starting with the messages we take in each day.
Maybe from a tag of tea.

I just love this article and your newsletter Joy! It really resonates with me and I am grateful, so grateful, for having met you in ABQ. I will be moving back east soon and am strongly considering Asheville. I find myself in the state of not knowing, wanting absolute clarity, and I am working hard to keep those fear thoughts at bay and to instead be open and to be led on this new adventure. Your newsletter is very helpful and once again, I appreciate it and I appreciate your presence.
Namaste!

Dear Christa,
Hooray!
I’m humbled and grateful this article and newsletter resonate with you!!! I’m glad we met, too,
and may you live into your new adventure with lots of trust, faith, and action. We don’t always
receive clarity before we move foreword, as you likely know. Sometimes, we need to leap before
the net appears, as I understand it. To all your peace, abundance, blessings, love, and more!
Namaste,
Joy
