When Ben and I realize we’re no longer partners, he moves out of the master bedroom.

As I breathe into this new space within and without, Divinity wakes me with an assignment.

Go In Joy! An Alphabetical Adventure flows through my heart and hands in 10 weeks via essays, questions and poetry to inspire readers.

Readers love the format’s magic, while a few say that the book restarted their poem making.

After publication, I lead journaling classes with alphabetical prompts.

How can you reach more people?

Gee whiz…I appreciate the question from Spirit, though I’m running late.

As class begins (with two women), one says, Joy, I don’t think you understand how VALUABLE the prompts you give us are.  I am growing and changing because of this class.  You need to put them into a book!

In February 2017, a third alphabetical book enters as a children’s book in verse, which feels like I’m channeling Dr. Seuss.

I run with it, and when I share, folks say, I love it!  I want it!

At a Psychic and Healing Arts Expo the first days of April, friends send me to readers 11 and 22.

Since I love those numbers and I honor inspired referrals, off I go.

When I say, I feel like I’m channeling Dr. Seuss, 22 closes her eyes, pauses and says, Ted Geisel is in your Soul Group; he’s helping you write this book.

Finishing the book, I realize that it needs illustrations and that I’d like to submit it to larger channels than the self-publishing path I’ve used.

One evening I whine to Ben…This book is 1885 words, and they want a picture book to be under 800 words.

Yes, he says.

They’ll throw your manuscript away if it doesn’t fit the form.

I pause to take this in.

Wow…oh, my….I think I get it.

If I want this fun, creative book published traditionally, I need to release the alphabetical format.

The next morning, as the ah ha sinks in, a title comes with it….and I begin to understand unlimited possibilities beyond alphabetical books.

I choose 11 topics from the long version which fit the title, reconfiguring them in the computer for a word count.

And, dear reader…

Since I released the structure of alphabetical books, I realize how many forms I’ve had trouble releasing in life, though this week I’m noticing more to release.

And I wonder….have you thought about this at all?

Might you consider a tradition, a habit, a practice or a routine that you’ve had for a while?

What about a relationship.  Is it working well?

Examine it.

Turn it over.

Mull it over.

Consider making a change.

Every time I move past a way of doing things, I have become more empowered, more creative, happier and freer to live a unique, wild and awesome life.

Which is what I desire for all of us.
