What a difference days and weeks can make.

Ron, who I date, is in the middle of settling into a new place, engaging with the do I keep it or do I release it dilemma many of us have experienced.
It’s a common question with the stuff of our lives, isn’t it?
A friend I’ll call Sally related a story to me of her decision to trade an antique bench for a more sturdy one.
When the shop owner arrived to pick it up, however, Sally apologized, telling the woman that she’d reached a new decision.
Sally realized that she needed to honor feelings within, which weren’t yet ready to release the bench.
A few days after writing the post about slipping out of a structure, I was given a knowing that a structure I had released was one I needed to keep.
Ahah!
It was time for me to Play with Patterns.
The summary is this:
My first two books – Go In Joy! An Alphabetical Adventure and Go In Joy! Venture to Your Center – follow alphabetical structures, and the recent children’s book that came through with such fun and wisdom follows the same structure – A to Z.
After looking into traditional publishing and reading a shortened version of my book to a second grade class, the idea to release the alphabetical structure made sense for a short time… until I understood that I ACTUALLY NEED to hold onto it a little longer, at least for books three and four.
This leads me to recall the tension of opposites that so often enter our lives….in this case, sometimes we need to slip from a structure and sometimes we need to play with a pattern.
What patterns pop up in your life?
