Have you seen this movie?
I caught The Last Word starring Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried on Amazon Prime, a film revealing our need to live in ways that matter, in ways uniquely ours to live and in ways that positively impact others.
Yes!
I agree!
Do you?
How is life going for you? Are you living in ways that feel good to yourself and others.
I am now, thankfully.
Years ago, however, my life sung a different tune.
I spent plenty of years wounded, nursing my wounds or feeling rather unhappy to be on the planet.
Not my finest hours by any stretch.
As I recall, though, while I harbored angst within, I managed to be a fun enough version of Joy without, making a difference in the lives of others as I could, being kind as I could and more.
There were co-dependent years that everyone’s needs and lives seemed to matter more than mine, but I didn’t understand enough to live differently.
When my husband wouldn’t discuss something I needed to discuss and wouldn’t go to therapy, I realized that I wasn’t strong enough to leave the marriage with our sons, so I stayed.
Which, in hindsight, was a very good thing.
I needed to grow up within myself, and our sons needed both their parents as they were growing up.
Ultimately, we divorced after our sons were launched and we’d moved to a new place, which is when I truly was led to heal more and more into the Joy I am today.
How about you?
Are you whining? Angry? Running on adrenalin?
Are you happy with the ways you serve? The ways you are kind? The ways you are patient?
Have you followed an internal call to become a therapist? Have you gone down a path your Dad wanted you to follow?
Where does life find you these days?
Can you turn a corner to create a life that you are happy living?
Can you love yourself enough to live into better days?
May you find ways to enjoy this lifetime!
