Here’s more of the tale:
Of our two grown sons, the older one I’ll call Sam serves in the Peace Corps in Swakopmund, Namibia.
When he and I spoke last summer, I asked Sam if he’d like me to visit, a question that surprised me as it escaped my lips, since I’ve grown and changed so much from an earlier version who wouldn’t have inquired.
Sam said YES, and I’d like to go on a photo safari in South Africa.
I told him I’d look into it, and get back to him, recalling that in this small town in the mountains of western North Carolina there is a man who arranges photo safaris through Outdoor Africa.
Step by step, Sam and I lived into a March 2017 adventure together in South Africa and Namibia that was remarkable!
We had a great time together, viewed beautiful landscapes, met wonderful people and photographed incredible elephants, zebras, giraffes and more.
We went on a boat to see hippopotamus and crocodile, dipped our toes into the Indian Ocean and sat with a Zulu Medicine Woman, which led to a sweet healing of my tooth issue/connection to my deceased Nana.
Wow!
Everything about our adventure was WOW!
We LOVED it!
And when I returned home, Toby Brown of Outdoor Africa invited me to return in July 2018, and to bring others with me.
What?!
I have the chance to experience with others new scenery, new game reserves and awesome animals we witness through our camera lenses!!
How wonderful!
