…and Clubs, Hearts and Diamonds.
I’ll explain.
In recent months, an online game that calls to me when I need to relax is Klondike Solitaire Double Deck.
What a joy!
What fun to play a few hands after I’ve cleaned a closet shelf, spent time preparing a meal or seek a break between activities.
I imagine I use this game like others use ways to unplug…like Pokeman, a cigarette break or walking the dog.
Maybe we engage in moments of distraction, since deep focusing asks for breaks after deep concentration, doesn’t it?
It’s why I’ve written about hula hooping on the lawn – taking breaks outside after hours on my computer.
Anyway…about Solitaire and the lessons I received today that translate to our lives:
Slow down
Zipping along, we miss moves that would serve better later in the game. I’ve learned to respond more slowly playing Solitaire, increasing a winning streak beyond my imagining.
May you learn what I’ve learned in the past year…the benefits of not speeding through life. Slowing down feels epic; it leads to BEING, allowing life to unfold. May we accomplish more by doing one thing at a time and by not rushing.
Reduce piles
Playing Solitaire, I’ve learned to make moves that clear up cards tucked beneath other cards. An Ace or the King of Clubs arises when I utilize the top card covering a pile instead of a card dealt above.
Who among us knows that piles of magazines or anything cluttering our spaces drains energy?
When we create harmony in our homes, we’re able to accomplish more or rest with ease. Reducing chaos in our environments, in relationships and in our minds truly matters.
Unlimited Re-dos
What a great feature in this online game! If I move too swiftly, I can Un-do a move to recover a card I’d like to use.
Beyond perfection in life, have we learned that we can choose again, decide again or re-do something we didn’t do as we’d prefer?
Let’s live into moments we can un-do with greater honesty.
