Twirling the fork into my bowl of Skyline Chili with onions and cheese tonight, an idea arose.
Wow.
Fun.
I delight in each forkful years after not liking my first taste of this strange concoction that my husband loved.
What?
Next, I realize that this has been a pattern for me. Give me first bites of a new food to watch me make a face. A few bites later, I’m likely a raving fan.
These days, I’ll eat Skyline Chili in a heartbeat, and I’m happier knowing that we’ve got a box of it in our freezer.
Does this sound familiar?
This reminds me of another idea…which is to experiment.
Lean in. Test the waters. Of an activity, a group, a path.
Say YES more than before.
This practice has opened my world beyond rigid parameters.
This practice has made life more fun!
I can say this about many things….about visiting a Naturopath who suggested that I widen the variety of food I consume.
Yes.
I can eat cheese, bread, meat…items I’d foregone to stick within a narrow window as a Vegan.
Eating from more food groups has given me deeper joy to share a meal with Michael. We highly enjoy eating lots of vegetables with occasional meat added in. We eat eggs occasionally, pancakes every now and then and savor pasta with chickpeas, garlic and broccoli a couple times a month.
Variety.
It’s the spice of life.
Are you ready to live outside a box you’re cramped inside?
Would you like to widen your taste of life’s possibilities?
May your journey outward hold magic, dear one.
If I can support you, please reach out.
